Undisputed

I'm proud to say that saw Undisputed in the theater. Recently, I saw it again. It was still awesome. I'm not joking. There's too much snark in the world as it is. I really like this movie. The premise is a little out there, but who cares? Basically, Wesley Snipes is the boxing champ in this inter-prison league. Ving Rhames is the heavyweight champ of the world who's sent to prison. They fight. Again, it is awesome. Undisputed was directed by Walter Hill who's done some great movies and while this may never make anyone's top ten, it accomplishes everything it sets out to do and does it well.

Not quite as awesome, but still entertaining, is Undisputed 2. This features Michael Jai White taking over the Ving Rhames role and he gets sent to prison in Russia (this guy's luck is BAD) where he has to fight their resident bad ass. This moves away from boxing and into the mixed martial arts world, which is cool. There were definitely some budget constraints on this one, but it's more than made up for with the frenetic fights and camera work.

I understand that there's an Undisputed 3 in the works. I will go out on a limb and give it a pre-awesome.
